895,828. Grinding. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Nov. 28, 1960 [Nov. 27, 1959], No. 40874/60. Class 60. Notched bars for relay contact springs are made from paper laminate or similar material by the method of feeding the material 17 to a blanking press 12 having a punch 20 which punches the bars 21 from the material into a guiding groove 18 whence they are fed past one or several ribbed grinding wheels 14. After entering the groove 18 from a die 16, the train of blanks on edge may be brought into contact with an adhesive tape 22 fed from a roll 23, the tape and adhering notched bars being wound on to a roller 24 driven by a motor 25 having its speed compensated to maintain a constant speed of the tape and blanks past the wheel 14 as the roll 24 increases in diameter; resilient tongues 26, Fig. 3, urge the bars against the tape 23. If more than one wheel is used the bars are ground by each wheel in succession. The other edges of the bars may also be notched, if desired.
