Abstract

895,587. Partitions. IMBRECHT, A. G. Dec. 18, 1959, No. 43060/59. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) [Also in Group XL(c)] A partition unit which can be set between a floor and a ceiling comprises a panel 10a carrying a beam 25 which can be raised out from the panel. The panel has a honeycomb interior of resin impregnated paper contained by wood freeings 11, 12 and is provided with tongued and grooved vertical edges. The beam 25 comprises an aluminium T-shaped member 26 having attached cover members 27, 28 and is raised by filling a rubber tube 20 with compressed air from a cylinder which may be built into the panel. A ratchet device may be used in conjunction with the inflatable tube. Alternatively the tube 20 is replaced by a shaft carrying collars with cams which lift the beam when the shaft is rotated. The unit has felt pads 14a and 29 and may be used in an inverted position. A complete partition including doors and corner posts may be assembled from the units which may contain an aerial and electrical wiring.
