Abstract
895,372. Handle fixings. GODDARD & SONS Ltd., J. Feb. 22, 1961 [Feb. 22, 1960] No. 6130/60. Class 61. The handle mounting extension 11 of the head of a polish applicator, broom, &c. has a bore 13 to receive a ferrule 14 in which is mounted a resilient, flanged bush 12 provided internally with a tapering circumferential ridge 21 or ridges serving to resist withdrawal of the end of the handle H from the bush, the bush being resiliently clamped in the ferrule when the handle end is inserted. The innermost end of the ferrule 14 is curled inwardly at 18 to form a seating for the bush 12. The ferrule 14 is formed with an internal, circumferential recess 16 into which a peripheral protruberance 19 on the bush 15 is adapted to be forced. The bush is formed with spaced longitudinal projections on each side of the ridge 21 to engage with the handle and restrain it from angular wobble.
