Abstract

894,305. Gear-finishing. ZAHNSCHNEIDEMASCHINENFABRIK MODUL VEB. March 13, 1959, No. 8880/59. Class 83 (3). A gear-shaving machine comprises means for mounting a workpiece on a stationary axis and means for moving a tool 2 angularly to-andfrorn the workpiece to produce a crowned gear. An angularly adjustable table 6 carries inclined guides 7, 10 and a slide 5 on which is mounted a shaft 17. An upper table 4 is carried by an eccentric 15 on the shaft 17 and a block 8 sliding in the guide 7. The tool 2 is mounted on a bracket 3 angularly adjustable on the table 4. When the slide 5 is reciprocated, the table 4 is rocked by the block 8 engaging the guide 7 and the shaft 17 is raised and lowered as the eccentric is oscillated by levers 12, 13, 14 connected to a block 11 sliding in the guide 10. In a modification, the eccentric is oscillated by gears engaging a rack on the table 6.
