Abstract

2, 4 - Diamino - 6 - substituted - 1, 3, 5 - tri - azines (guanamines) are prepared by condensing a salt of a cyanamide derivative, of the formula R.CO.NB.CN, wherein R.CO is an organic acid residue and B is a base, with a guanidine salt. The process may be carried out at 150 DEG C.-240 DEG C. in the presence of an inert diluent and under reduced pressure. Cyanamide salts include the sodium, potassium and calcium salts.
