Abstract

892,209. Releasable fastenings. HOLMBERG, G. E. Y. Dec. 13, 1960 [Dec. 17, 1959], No. 42884 /60. Class 44. A fastening device for car safety belts comprises a U-shaped member 25 having holes 27 in its limbs each of which co-operates with a flat housing 10 which has a projection 16 to engage in the hole 27 and a U-shaped latch 19 spring-biased so that its web 18 bears against screws 13 whilst holding the latching members in engagement. Holes 23, 24 in the flat sides of the housing allow access to a cross-bar 21 fixed to the member 19 so that this member may be retracted to allow the latching members to be separated. A further cross-bar 20 of the member 19 keeps the web 18 held spaced from the inner side of the plate 11 of the housing by a distance corresponding to the height of the projection 16.
