Abstract
Phosphoryl isocyanate PO(NCO)3 is prepared by oxidizing P(NCO)3 with nitrogen dioxide, which may be used in admixture with air.ALSO:Phosphoryl isocyanates of formula RnPO(NCO)3-n, where n is 1 or 2 and R is an alkyl, alkoxy, aryl or aryloxy group, are prepared by oxidising the compounds RnP(NCO)3-n by means of nitrogen dioxide, which may be used in admixture with oxygen or air. An example oxidises phenoxy phosphorus di-isocyanate to phenoxy phosphoryl di-isocyanate. Other specified phosphorus isocyanates are the diethyl mono-, ethyl di-, ethoxy di- and phenyl phosphorus di-isocyanate.
