Class 93 [Also in Groups VIII and XXXV] The inner surface of a motor vehicle body has applied thereto a sheet of fibre material which is impregnated with bitumen and has a surface layer of oxidized asphalt or oxidized bitumen. The oxidized asphalt or oxidized bitumen may be applied spotwise on the surface of the sheet material. The material may be a wavy or,wafflesurfaced felt-like fibre material having spots of oxidized asphalt or oxidized bitumen applied to the crests thereof. The sheet of fibre material may be placed with the layer of oxidized asphalt or oxidized bitumen in engagement with the inner surface of the metal sheets of the vehicle body and heated to melt the oxidized bitumen or oxidized asphalt while simultaneously pressing the material against the metal. The heating may be by means of high frequency alternating current which may be effected by induction of eddy currents at the inner side of the metal sheets, or by means of a heating element pressed against the material.
