Abstract

890,032. Resilient mountings. METALASTIK Ltd. Oct. 4, 1960 [Oct. 13, 1959], No. 34731/59. Class 108(3). A resilient mounting comprises an intermediate plate 7, Fig. 2, or sleeve to which the load is applied and which is resiliently connected to inner and outer plates or sleeves 8, 10 through bodies 12, 13 of rubber or like material, the inner or outer member such as 8 being coupled to the foundation 6 for supporting loads below a predetermined load and the other member such as 10 moving to engage the foundation 6 at the predetermined load so that at higher loads both bodies of rubber 12, 13 become effective in assisting to support the load. The contacting surfaces 24, 27 &c. of the sleeves are tapered or partly tapered and partly cylindrical with annular regions at different cone angles. The rubber sleeves 12, 13 may extend over the ends of the sleeves 8, 10 to reduce shock.
