Abstract
890,009. Confining dust generated in industrial processes. SCHEIBLE CO., CLAUDE B. March 29, 1960, No. 11102/60. Class 8(2). A rising column of dust-laden gas generated by a casting 11, Fig. 1, enters an open-fronted suction hood 13 whence it is divided into upper and lower relatively dust-free and heavily dustladen portions by a flap 21 pivoted at 22, Fig. 4, about a horizontal axis ; the two portions thereafter traversing suction ducts 15, 16 leading to atmosphere and gas cleaning apparatus respectively. Side flaps 19 pivoted about hinges 20 normal to the axis of hinges 22 and triangular plates 23 secured to flap 21 by a pin and slot means 24, 25 allow the shape of the chamber leading to one of the ducts to be changed whilst maintaining its area constant.
