889,887. Joint-making packing. BARWOOD, V. H. May 17, 1960, No. 17313/60. Class 122 (3). [Also in Group XXV] A gasket comprises a casing of flexible sheet material having an apertured flange 10 joined at 11 to a second apertured flange 12, the space between the flanges being filled with a sealing compound 13. When a bolt is passed through the washer and screwed into a workpiece the flanges are squeezed together, thus forcing the compound into the bolt hole to seal the latter. The sheet material may be zinc, stainless steel, brass, nylon, or other flexible synthetic resinous compounds.
