Abstract
Wire insulated with a cellular coating is obtained by coating the wire with a heated solution of polythene or polyisobutylene, with or without a foaming agent, at a temperature below that necessary for foaming, cooling to room temperature, then heating to a temperature high enough to form small cells within the coating. Dinitropentamethylene tetramine is the specified foaming agent.
