Abstract

889,747. Road rollers. BOPPARDER MASCHINENBAUGESELLSCHAFT, BOMAG. Oct. 5, 1960 [Oct. 12, 1959], No. 34209/60. Class 6(1). A road roller having four rolls is provided with a motor for driving the two left hand rolls 1a, 2a independently of the two right hand rolls, a separate reversing gear 14 for each pair of rolls being provided to facilitate steering of the roller so that each pair of rolls can be driven forwardly, rearwardly or can run idly independently of the other pair. As shown, the motor 12 and reversing gears 14 are mounted on a frame 9 mounted on top of the chassis frame 5 and supported on the rolls by means of rollers 32. A driving seat 33 is provided and is displaceable laterally on the frame.
