Abstract

889,030. Inductive signalling. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 1, 1958 [April 2, 1957], No. 10429/58. Class 40(5). An inductive intercommunication system comprises a main station A, and two substations B, C. The main station includes a portable inductive receiver 14, 15, 16, and a portable radio frequency transmitter 31, 32, 33, from which R.F. signals are picked up by loop 29, demodulated at 34, amplified at 21 and fed over selector switches 24, 25, by lines to the sub-stations where the audio signal is applied over transformer 30, to sub-station loops 29, and received by similar inductive receivers. Answer back facilities at the substations include similar R.F. transmitters 31, 32, 33 which co-operate their respective with loops 29. The R.F. signal is demodulated at the sub-station at 34, and applied as an A.F. signal to the lines and fed back to the main station. The system is described as applicable to a ship's communication system.
