Abstract
888,803. Releasable fastenings. BLAUPUNKT-WERKE G.m.b.H. Nov. 21, 1958 [Nov. 27, 1957], No. 37465/58. Class 44. A plastic press or push button is secured to a flat strip member by providing the strip member with a flat end region 2 of reduced thickness which is adapted for insertion in a guide groove of the button the end region being provided with a flexible tongue 4 which is accessible from an opening 11 in the button, the arrangement being such that the tongue is bent for securing the button to the strip member said bending causing it to engage behind a safety projection 12 inside the button to retain the button substantially without strain. As shown the button is provided with two guide grooves 8, 9 the guide groove 9 being widened at its rear end. The. opening 11 opens into the groove 9. The tongue 4 is bent before the end region 2 is inserted into the button the portion 10 of the lower guide groove permitting this insertion and after the insertion the tongue is bent back to be aligned with the remainder of the region 2 in which position it engages the projection 12 to prevent the button being removed.
