888,531. Outrigger for vehicle-mounted oil-well derricks. CABOT CORPORATION. April 2, 1960, No. 11732/60. Class 78 (4). An outrigger for a vehicle-mounted oil-well derrick comprises upper and lower arms 26, 22 pivoted respectively to the derrick by a pin 28 and to the vehicle 20 by a pin 24. A brace member 32 and a member 14 are inclined at an angle to the vertical so that the outrigger swings upwards as it is moved to its folded position alongside the vehicle. A jack 36 engages the ground. Additional support is provided by a hinged strut 42, 48 which folds about a hinge 50 when the outrigger is in inoperative position. An outrigger may be provided on each side of the vehicle.
