Abstract

888,225. Ground anchors. NICHOLS, H. C. Aug. 22, 1960 [Sept. 2, 1959], No. 29909/59. Class 45. A ground anchor which is inserted into the ground with the links 17 and 18 in line and engaged by flexing said links as shown by the sliding of member 11 in tube 10 actuated by nut 15. The upper link 17 may have a flat strip on it to give greater ground holding. Also (not illustrated), the roles of members 10 and 11 may be reversed : the upper end of the link 17 may be connected to member 11 through longitudinal slots in tube 10 and the lower end of link 18 connected to tube 10.
