Abstract
887,470. Endless conveyers. FORGROVE MACHINERY CO. Ltd. Oct. 23, 1959 [Nov. 14, 1958], No. 36742/58. Class 78 (1). Bundles of sausages or other articles of a soft or sticky nature are fed to a travelling web 23 for wrapping them by known means, e.g. tubeforming means 25, by first and second conveyers 10, 11, the former consisting of a pair of endless chains 12 passing at the discharge end over staggered sprockets 13 and carrying pockets 14 comprising fingers 17 adapted to be maintained horizontal, and the second conveyer comprising laterally-spaced endless bands 20 between which the fingers 17 are adapted to pass downwardly so that the articles are deposited successively in spaced relation on the bands 20. The fingers 17 of each pocket 14 are secured to a cross-bar 15 pivoted at 16 to one of the chains 12, the fingers 17 being pivoted at 19 to the other chain.
