Abstract

884,627. Gas turbine plants. REUTTENER TEXTILWERKE A.G. April 10, 1959 [April 30, 1958], No. 12259/59. Class 110 (3). Combustible constituents are removed from the waste gases of chemical processes by feeding the waste gases to a gas turbine plant. After compression, the combustible constituents are burnt in the combustion chamber of the plant jointly with fuel fed to it in the usual manner. By this means, hydrogen sulphide and carbon disulphide are removed from the waste gases occurring in the manufacture of viscose. The sulphur dioxide resulting from the combustion may be rendered innocuous by washing the exhaust with waste alkaline solution.
