883,925. Induction motors. ZAVODY V. I. LENINA PLZEN, NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 11, 1959 [Nov. 12, 1958], No. 38204/59. Class 35. A variable-speed induction motor comprises a series of stators 1, 2, 3 each energized by one phase of a three-phase supply, and so arranged that stators 1 and 3 can be turned in opposite directions with respect to the middle stator 2 to produce rotation. The rotors 4 are all linked by a common squirrel cage or other shorted winding. When the stators are in line the flux travels axially only but opposite rotation of the outer ones produces a rotational component.
