[Also in Group XI] A valved container for the liquefied gas fuel of a pyrophoric lighter comprises a spring-urged non-return valve 7 through which the container can be charged, an outlet control valve 21 separable from the container and a pusher member 11 arranged to act between the outlet control valve and the non-return inlet valve to open the inlet valve when the outlet valve is mounted in position. The outlet control valve closure member seats on a resilient disc 16 having a small central aperture 17. Above the disc 16 is threaded a housing 18. A disc 15 of porous medium e.g. unglazed paper is placed below the disc 16. On screwing the outlet control valve into the container the non-return valve 7 is unseated by the pusher member 11 and gas flows through the cross-cut 14 and narrow bore 13 to the central aperture 17. The outlet valve member 21 is lifted by a lever 28 to permit the gas to flow through the radial passage 24 and the axial passage 25 to the outlet. The diameter of the orifice 17 in the disc 16 can be varied by screwing-in the housing 18 and compressing the disc 16, thereby controlling the rate of flow of gas through the valve.
