In a watch case in which the back is a snap fit on or in the caseband, a resilient gasket between the back and caseband is "pinched" between opposing edges of steps in the opposing faces of the back. and caseband. In the first example, Fig. 1, the rim 16 of the back 15 snaps on to the undercut face 14 of the caseband 10 which is stepped at 11 and 12, the back being stepped at 18 and 19. The gasket 20 is not compressed but is "pinched" by the opposing edges of the steps 11 and 18. In the second embodiments, Fig. 2, the back 15 having steps 33, 34 is a snap fit in the undercut face 31 of the caseband which has a step 25. The gasket 20 is pinched between the edges of the steps 25, 33. A sealing ring is located in the groove 39 of the shank 37 of the button 38.
