[Also in Group XL (c)] Apparatus for deriving an output signal, the amplitude of which is proportional to a given function of a magnitude represented by the phase shift of a pulse signal with respect to a reference, comprises a diode bridge modulator 15 . . . 18 fed with positive and negative going pulses c, d derived from signal a and with a cyclically varying signal e (as shown a sine wave), the amplitude of which varies in accordance with the desired function, so that the output across capacitor 20 will be proportional to the sine of the magnitude represented by said phase shift. The varying signal may be a sawtooth signal if a linear output is required.
