Class 20(3) A resilient compound sealing strip comprises a component strip 1 of soft rubber, plastic or like material, which may be stiffened by the insertion of a metal rail in the channel 3 and a second component strip of sponge rubber, foamed plastic or like material which is formed with an undercut ridge 21 which removably engages in a groove 5 formed in the strip 1. Longitudinal stability of the strip 2 is maintained by reinforcing threads 11 of non-stretchable material and the strip is sealed against the ingress of moisture. The ridge 21 and the groove 5 may be formed with various cross sections, e.g. dovetail, circular, or T-shaped.
