Abstract
879,055. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. GRAHAM, C. R. M. May 20, 1960 [May 21, 1959], No. 17845/60. Class 102(2). A manually operable valve for discharging liquid under the action of a propellant from a container (not shown), comprises a valve body 21 with a central cavity 33 surrounded by a rim 30 that is urged into sealing engagement with a resilient disc 10 in an aperture of a cap 12, a discharge tube 20 being a gastight fit in an aperture of the disc and projecting from both sides thereof, one portion extending into the cavity having a flange 27 resting on a seat 31 formed in the cavity wall and being held by a circumferential lip 321 of the valve body and having a restricted opening 23 in the tube end to constitute a metering inlet. In operation, the valve body, Fig. 2 (not shown), upon being tilted, allows liquid to be forced from a duct 18 through indentations 28, Fig. 4 (not shown), in the flanges 27 and through passages 29 in the inner wall of the cavity to the inlet end of the discharge tube. The passages 29 may be of a size suitable for filtering out solid impurities.
