Abstract

877,861. Waveguide seals. PARKERHANNIFIN CORPORATION. June 15, 1959, No. 20379/59. Class 40(8) A seal for use in a joint between conductive electrical parts, e.g. the flanges 12 of waveguides 10, 11, comprises a metallic member 21 carrying deformable sealing members 33, 34 on either side and formed with raised, deformable portions 40 for establishing positive conductive contact with the parts to be joined. The sealing members 33, 34 stand proud of the surfaces of member 21 when in uncompressed condition but are forced completely into grooves 27, 28 when the clamping screws (not shown) are tightened. The grooves are connected at intervals by apertures 30. Contacts 40 comprise two bands of parallel ridges separated by grooves.
