Abstract
877,353. Air cooled radiator mountings. SERCK RADIATORS Ltd. March 15, 1960 [March 31, 1959], No. 10796/59. Class 64(3) In an air cooled radiator of the kind comprising tubes c extending between headers a, a<SP>1</SP>, a pad g of rubber or rubberlike material is bonded at opposite sides thereof to a header and to a radiator support d respectively, so that movement of the header in response to thermal expansion or contraction of the tube assembly is accommodated by shear strains in the pads. In the form shown each pad g is bonded on one side to a plate e attached to the upper header a, and on the other side to a plate f secured to the associated support member d. Such a resilient support may also be applied between the lower header a<SP>1</SP> and the members d. According to the Provisional Specification a bracket may serve as the connection between the header and the pad g.
