Abstract

876,763. Animal collars. COPLAND, F. March 22, 1960 [July 10, 1959],:NO. 23729/59. Class 62. A collar for a chinchilla or other small animal, for the purpose of confining the animal in a breeding compartment having an open entrance of predetermined size, comprises a pair of jaw-like members 5, 7 which are pivotally connected at 9 and are releasably secured together at their free ends by engagement of a spring tongue 11 with a cranked recess 13. The members are formed from flat, stiff and lightweight sheet, e.g. " Perspex " (Registered Trade Mark), and have cut-away portions to permit free movement of the animal's limbs. The spring tongue is secured in two holes 21 and may be formed from spring wire or tinned sheet metal.
