Class 120 (2) In an automatic thread winding machine of the kind having a plurality of winding stations, a thread restoring mechanism operative to unite the two thread ends in the event of a breakage at any one of said stations or the replacement of an exhausted supply bobbin and means to produce relative movement of the winding stations and thread restoring mechanism to locate each station in turn within the zone of operation of the restoring mechanism, the thread leading to the package at each winding station is passed around the inboard side of a thread guide drum associated with the winding station.
