Abstract
875,785. Electric measuring systems. FOXBORO CO. May 3, 1960 [May 4, 1959], No. 15627/60. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XL (c)] The value of a variable is measured electrically and transmitted to a remote station as a proportional direct current by causing the variable to displace the armature 34 of a variable coupling transformer 30 located in the feedback circuit of a transistor oscillator 22, the output current being fed through transformer 66, fullwave rectifier 74, 76, filter 80, 82, 84 and transistor amplifiers 52, 54 to a motor 100 which repositions the armature 34. The D.C. through motor 100 at balance is indicative of the value of the variable. The power for the system and the meter 16 carrying the signal current are located at a remote station, linked to the main apparatus by lines 14 which carry both the P.D. required for the transistors and the signal current.
