Abstract

875,261. Bolts. KEREL A. B. June 3, 1958, No. 17653/58. Class 89(1). An anchoring bolt 3, Fig. 1, has a surface 5 inclined to the longitudinal axis, which is engaged by a corresponding surface 7 of a wedge 6; the bolt 3 is also engaged by a curved surface 8, Fig. 3, of the wedge, which surface corresponds to a portion of the bolt's periphery and thereby guides the wedge. Additional guide action is obtained by the engagement of the wedge's circular periphery with the wall of the hole. A wire 10 may be used to position the wedge, and a washer 12, having a bent portion 13, may be provided between a nut 4 and the rock &c., 1. A wedge may be provided at each side of the bolt.
