Abstract

Anhydrous acetone isohydrazone is recovered from its aqueous solution by adding an alkali metal hydroxide to the solution, separating from one another the two layers formed and rectifying the lighter of the two layers to yield anhydrous acetone isohydrazone. The alkali metal hydroxide is preferably added in the form of a concentrated aqueous solution.
