873,405. Reinforcing fibrous fleeces. FORSCHUNGSINSTITUT FUR TEXTILTECHNOLOGIE. Nov. 18, 1957, No. 35865/57. Class 42 (2). Transverse reinforcing threads are laid between two fibrous fleeces 1, 2, by means of an endless belt 4 carrying eyelets for threads supplied by bobbins 21 on a rotating bobbin carrier 22. The threads are wrapped round four moving guide wires 11-14 which deposit them between the fleeces; cutters (not shown) in the vicinity of guide-rollers 26, 27, cut the threads into separate straight lengths. Longitudinal reinforcing threads may also be fed between the fleeces; the longitudinal and transverse threads may be joined together by adhesive or by employing thermoplastic threads, or by feeding an adhesive fleece between the layers of threads.
