872,691. Root crop harvesters. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHMOTZER G.m.b.H. Jan. 21, 1960 [Jan. 22, 1959], No. 2167/60. Class 6(3). A root crop harvester arranged to cut off the foliage from one row of a crop and lift a row of the crop situated outside the track of the towing tractor is provided with a landwheel 2 running behind the crop uprooting share 14, a foliage lopping knife 27 being offset laterally relative to the wheel 2 by a row width. The cut foliage is fed by a guide device 28 to a transverse conveyer 29 arranged behind a driver's seat 10. The crops cut by the share 14 are conveyed rearwards by a radial sieve 15 to an elevating conveyer 18 which conveys them obliquely upwards into a collecting bin 19.
