Abstract

872,635. Filing papers. DUCERF, G. Nov. 21, 1957 [Nov. 26. 1956]; No. 36349/57. Class 146(1). A device for fixing sheets of paper, and board or the like, particularly for supporting the file holding means 15a, 15b of a suspension filing system, comprises two plate members 1, 2 between which one or more sheets are inserted, the member 1 having a plurality of projecting pins 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, a . portion of each pin adjacent the member 1 being recessed, and an aperture 7 adjacent to the recessed portion of each pin which aperture comprises a continuation of the recessed portion, and the member 2 having slots 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, each slot comprising a wide portion 8 and a narrower portion 9 which grips the recessed portion of one of the pins; the pins are engaged in holes in the sheets to be fixed and are then engaged in the wide portions 8 of the slots in the member 2, one of the members 1, 2 finally being slid in relation to the other until the recessed portions of the pins engage the narrower portions 9 of the slots and the two members are thereby locked together. The members 1, 2 and the pins are moulded from synthetic resin and each of the pins has a small resilient projecting boss 10 on the underside of the recessed portion which engages in a seating 11 in the narrow portion 9 of the corresponding slot to hold the members 1, 2 more securely together. A supporting bar 12 having ends 13 bent down at right angles is formed integrally with the member 1 and engages rails forming part of a suspension filing system. A small stud 14 may be provided on the underside of the bar 12 to help locate the member 2. In modifications designed to grip a varying number of sheets. a set of members 1 having pins of different lengths or a set of members 2 having different thicknesses may be provided; the thickness of the member 2 along the portions 9 of its slots may be varied so that the space available for papers between the two members depends upon the amount of relative lateral sliding; resilient, means which permit the insertion of a greater or smaller thickness of papers may be provided between the two members.
