Abstract
872,297. Moulding hollow plastic articles. AMBI-BUDD PRESSWERK G.m.b.H. Aug. 12, 1957 [Aug. 11, 1956; Aug. 18, 1956; Sept. 11, 1956; Oct. 3, 1956; Nov. 6, 1956; Nov. 30, 1956], No. 25411/57. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XVII] A liquid container is injection moulded from a thermoplastic synthetic resin material in two parts, each of which comprises body and spout portions, the two parts being sub sequently welded together. Each moulded part comprises a member 4 of a handle for the container and half of a contral member 3 of the handle, as shown in Fig. 15. Where F represents a crosssection through the outer half of a moulding tool and S a vertically movable slide. The two container parts are subsequently clamped in holding devices 32, 33 respectively, the member 32 being slidable. A heating element 34 is interposed between the container parts to melt adjacent edges. On raising of the element 34, the member 32 is advanced by compressed air or spring pressure from mechanism 35 to join the container parts by a butt-welded seam. The container parts, which need not be identical halves, are formed by a cooled moulding tool, the synthetic resin being injected in liquid form under pressure.
