Abstract
871,796. Magnetic information-storage apparatus. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. Feb. 6, 1959 [Feb. 6, 1958], No. 4258/59. Class 40 (9). A magnetic storage or switching matrix comprises a mesh or network of insulated wires which is coated with a layer of magnetic material, such as a ferrite, by either spraying from the molten state or depositing from the gaseous phase, the individual storage cells being formed by the magnetic layer at the intersection points of the wires. The network may be coated with a temperature-resistant lacquer before the magnetic layer is applied so that magnetic material is unable to penetrate between the wires at the intersections. In a modification the network is placed on a sintered ferrite base and is then encased by a deposited ferrite layer. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 806,964.
