Abstract

871,173. Valves. KLEIN, SCHANZLIN & BECKER A.G. Sept. 30, 1958 [Oct. 8, 1957], No. 31135/58. Class 135. An indicating arrangement for an hydraulically or pneumatically activated valve having a piston and cylinder control assembly comprises an indicator device associated with each of the control medium lines to the central assembly and adapted to be operated by the control medium discharged from the assembly during operation thereof. The supply-exhaust lines 7 and 8 of the cylinder 3 of a piston 2 which actuates a valve 1 are controlled by a pair of cocks 5, 10 which are connected to remotely situated indicator tanks 12, 16 each having sight glasses 13, 17 so that as the piston moves one or other of the indicators 12, 13 or 16, 17 receives the fluid discharged from the cylinder 3 and indicates such movement. In a second embodiment only one indicating tank and one selector cock are used, the tank being emptied before each operation of the valve 1. The direction in which the piston is moving is in this case indicated by the position of the selector cock. The indicator may be a dial gauge. If air is used as the control medium the air discharged from the cylinder bubbles through a liquid-filled sight glass.
