870,564. Bridges; joining metal sheets. INGENJORSFIRMAN INVENT A. B. July 14, 1959 [July 22, 1958], No. 24202/59. Classes 20(1) and 20(2) A bridge comprises a number of cables 3 secured to anchorages 4, 5 and supported by piers 1 and bearing a mould 6, 7, 8 in which has been cast a reinforced concrete roadway, the roadway following the catenary of the cables 3. Transverse beams may be fastened beneath the cables 3. In another embodiment the cables 3 are replaced by elongated strips which form the base 6 of the mould and either overlap, or are joined by I-section members, or are secured together edge to edge by rectangular headed bolts. The reinforcement 10 may be tensioned to the base 10 of the mould during moulding by ear bolts connected between the base and transverse rods joining the reinforcements 10. The ends of the reinforcements 10 may be crimped. Tension may be applied to the reinforcement 10 by rods or cables 11, 12.
