Abstract
869,321. Packaging-machines. HESSER, MASCHINENFABRIK -A.G., F. Nov. 4, 1959 [Nov. 11, 1958], No. 37403/59. Class 94(1). A machine for filling cartons with powders comprises groups of weighing devices, each group discharging to a common hopper and the outlet of each hopper terminating adjacent a rotating plate. The plate has apertures connected to conduits which discharge the powder into the cartons carried on a conveyer beneath. In one embodiment, -hoppers 2 beneath weighing devices I discharge into a sector shaped covered chamber divided into compartments 3, one for each hopper and having a bottom formed by the plate 4. The plate has apertures 5 at different radial distances which pass along the length of the compartments to receive the powder. The apertures 5 connect with conduits 9 having shutters 12 controlling the outlets to the cartons 13 In another embodiment, Figs. 4, 5 (not shown), the hoppers terminate in cylindrical chambers closed at the base by the plate, and the apertures in the plate are arcuate to give the necessary period for discharge of the powder.
