Abstract

Pigmented cellular polyurethanes are obtained by adding a paste of pigment in an organic liquid to the reactants. Specified liquids are tri (o-tolyl)-; tricresyl-; and tri (b -chloroethyl)-phosphate; dioctyl phthalate, and paraffin oil; whilst if a volatile liquid is used e.g. methylene chloride a lower density foam will result through volatilization. Lists of suitable pigments, catalysts, emulsifiers, polyethers, polyesters, and polyisocyanates are given. Fillers and flame proofers are optional. Specifications 553,733, 733,624, 769,680, 769,682, 790,420, 839,183, 845,206 and 867,234 are referred to.ALSO:Pigmented cellular polyurethanes are obtained by adding a paste of pigment in an organic liquid to the reactants. The liquid may be invisible or not with the polyether or polyester, but preferably not reactive towards isocyanates. Specified liquids are tri (o-tolyl)-; tricresyl-; and tri (b chloro ethyl)- phosphate; dioctyl phthalate and paraffin oil; whilst if a volatile liquid e.g. methylene chloride, is used a lower density foam will result through volatilization. Lists of suitable pigments, catalysts, emulsifiers, polyethers, polyesters and polyisocyanates are given. Fillers and flame proofers are optional. Specifications 553,733, 733,624, 769,680, 769,682, 790,420, 839,183, 845,206 and 867,234 are referred to.
