Abstract

867,164. Standing seats. FREY, C. Sept. 24, 1959 [Sept. 26, 1958], No. 32471/59. Classes 52(2) and 52(4). A standing seat comprises a foot board 1 supporting a pillar 2 and a seat formed by parts 7 and 9 carrying a rod 3 which telescopes into pillar 2 and is secured by screws 4. The seat parts 7 and 9 are covered by a pad 10 which has tabs 11 and 12 at its ends and tabs 14 and 15 fixed underneath. Tabs 14, 15 are connected by lacing to tabs 11, 12 to keep the pad in position. In a modification the stand comprises a U-shaped tube with the closed part bent at right angles and fixed to the footboard and a U-shaped rod fixed to the seat. In a further modification the clamping screws are replaced by a catch device. In another modification the stand is made of wood and fixed at various heights by nuts and bolts 29 as shown in Fig. 5.
