Abstract

864,753. Electroforming. ELLIOTT BROS. (LONDON) Ltd. July 16, 1957 [July 30, 1956], No. 23516/56. Class 41. A method of manufacturing a member by an electroforming process comprises, at an intermediate stage in the process, applying an element 3 of low electrical conductivity to the metal 2 already deposited and controlling the deposition of metal 5 around at least a part 4 of the element 3 to attach the element 3 to the member 2 with a degree of freedom relative thereto, e.g, perpendicular to the plane of the paper in the figure. The element 3 may be a stiffening rib of dielectric material and may have a foot 4 for contacting the deposited metal 2.
