Abstract
864,668. Self-propelled missiles. DAIMLERBENZ A. G. April 29, 1959 [May 8, 1958], No. 14632/59. Class 9(2). [Also in Groups XII and XXVI] A rocket combustion chamber 1 and nozzle is constructed by assembling together T-sectioned strips 4 to form an inner wall 2 and connecting to this a cooling jacket 3. The webs 5 of the strips 4 have castellated edges forming projections 6, which engage in slots 8 of frusto-conical rings 9 placed over the wall 2 to form the jacket 3, the spaces between the webs 5 being used as ducts for a coolant. The strips 4 are welded together to form a closed inner wall and the rings 9 are also welded together. The projections 6 are welded in the slots. Expansion joints may be provided between the rings and/or between the strips 4.
