Abstract

864,580. Rotary pumps. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO. Ltd. Aug. 20, 1959, No. 28515/59. Class 110 (2). In a rotary pump of the outwardly-sliding radial vane type the rotor shaft 6 is bored to receive pressurized lubricant which also acts to load the vanes. The lubricant is fed through passages 23 ... 28 as shown and also passes along the exterior of the shaft 6 to the working chambers from which it splash lubricates the bearing 8. Casing components 1, 2 are made of cast iron, the bearing sleeve 22 of sintered bronze, the vanes of fibrous or non-ferrous material whilst the rotor consists of an aluminium alloy cast on to a steel shaft. The space between the seals 9 and the bearing 8 is connected to the suction side of the pump, see Fig. 4 (not shown).
