864,448. Protective arrangements for electric motors. STUBNITZ-GREENE CORPORATION. Sept. 10, 1959 [Sept. 26, 1958], No. 30905/59. Class 35. An electric motor is provided with a temperature-sensitive capsule 27 embedded in its windings and a thermal-image overload device 20 outside the machine in which the bi-metallic strip carries the load current, so as to make allowance for both the temperature of the motor windings and the load current. The element 27 is normally open, but at a predetermined winding temperature, it closes the circuit of a heater 35 which in turn causes the normally closed motor-current switch 20 to open. The switch 20 has a snap-action spring 25.
