Abstract

863,187. Fluid - operated winch drives. ENGESETH, I., and FAEROY, E. Feb. 17, 1959 [Feb. 17, 1958; Nov. 14, 1958], No. 5518/59. Class 78 (5). [Also in Group XXXIV] Winch drum 10 is driven by fluid motor 7 driven by pump 1 and is braked by the action of brakes 12, 13 upon the brake disc 11. The fluid circuit is controlled manually by disc 34 which controls valve 3 by rack-and-pinion 37, 38 and controls valve 25 by cam-and-follower 39, 33. Valve 3 controls the passage of fluid from pump 1 to motor 7 and valve 25 controls the passage of fluid from accumulator 19 to brakes 12, 13 so that the brakes are applied as the motor stops.
