A bending mould comprises a plurality of interconnected rail sections having shaping surfaces formed thereon which define a curvature to which the glass sheet is to be bent and being adapted to form a continuous substantially uninterrupted contour, at least one of said rail sections being movable, characterised by a connection linkage including two elements adjustable relatively to each other and disposed between the movable rail section and an adjacent rail section to align the shaping surface of the movable rail section with the shaping surface of an adjacent rail section, thereby maintaining the continuous substantially uninterrupted contour. The mould shown in Fig. 1 comprises a central section 15 consisting of two parallel interconnected inverted T-section members 15 and connected at each end by a hinge 25 to end sections 18 of similar construction. Each of the members forming one of the end sections carries depending arms 21 pivoted at 22 to links 23 pivoted at 24 to vertical members 13 carried on a base frame 10. The hinges 25 permit the upper surfaces of the members 15 and 18 to be adjusted to form a smooth continuous curve in the operative position shown. The hinge is shown in detail in Fig. 3. The member 18 is notched at C to accommodate a short transverse plate 33 welded at 37 and carrying two parallel spaced plates 34 through which passes a hinge pin 40. A member 38 carried on the hinge pin is welded at 45 to a plate 44 pivoted in turn on a pin 46 to a plate 26 welded at 27 to the member 15. The plate 26 has a depending portion 28. Pins 47 and 48 project from the plate 44 on either side of the portion 28 which may be located relatively to the pins by wedges 49 and 50. By adjustment of these wedges the member 15 may be adjusted relatively to the member 19 between the limits indicated by the dotted lines D and E.
