861,922. Folding seats. JAMES, R. H. Nov. 6, 1959 [Nov. 14, 1958], No. 36743/58. Class 52(2). A folding chair with X-form by frames 10, 15 pivoted at 14, a back frame 17 pivoted to frame 15 and struts 19 pivoted to frames 10 and 17 has the struts formed with slots 24 which receive projecting pivot pins 22 between frames 15 and 17. Catch plates 25 pivoted to struts 19 at 26 engage over pins 22 to lock the chair in either of two positions provided by slots 27a, 27b. The projections of pins 22 which enter the slots 24 may be replaced by studs secured adjacent the pivot pins either to frame 15 or frame 17.
