Abstract

861,613. Seaming. GAIDANO, G. Feb. 18, 1959, No. 5598/59. Class 42 (1). In apparatus for high-frequency electric seam-welding of thermoplastic sheets, the sheets 13, 14 are conveyed between two endless belt conveyers 4, 9, belt 9 carries sealing electrodes constituted by conductive parts of the belt or by members 15 attached to the belt. These electrodes are connected by shoe contacts to a suitable high-frequency source in the base 1. Belt 4 passes over a co-operating electrode 5 and a cooling insulating surface 6. Electrodes 15 are shaped in the form of the desired seam weld. Pressure is applied by rollers 11 carried by a spring-pressed plate 10.
